Meet Dr. Kim

Dr. Kim brings a unique and diverse background to the world of dentistry—one shaped by international experience, a passion for helping others, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. Originally from South Korea, Dr. Kim began his career in the tech field as a programmer before serving in the military. After completing his service and earning commendation for his precision and discipline, he moved to the United States at the age of 27 to pursue a new academic path—one that would eventually lead him to discover his true calling in dentistry.

 

While navigating college and exploring career options, Dr. Kim volunteered at various local community events and charity programs, including Free Dental Day clinics. It was during these experiences that he found purpose in dentistry—a field that allowed him to combine his technical skills, attention to detail, and desire to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives. He moved on to earn his Bachelor’s Degree in Human Biology from Michigan State University, graduating with highest honors. He then completed his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where he graduated with oral surgery honor.

Since moving to Dallas, Texas in 2014, Dr. Kim has been practicing general dentistry with significant experience in oral surgery and dental implants. With a lifelong commitment to dentistry, he has been actively pursuing continuing education to stay at the forefront of advancements in the field and took hundreds of hours of courses internationally which earned him a Fellowship status in the Academy of General Dentistry, a distinction that less than 7% of general dentists in North America holds.

After years of building a thriving career and strong patient relationships in Dallas, Dr. Kim felt drawn to the natural beauty and slower pace of the Pacific Northwest. The birth of his daughter inspired a new chapter: one centered on raising his family closer to nature and creating deeper community connections. That journey led him to Arlington, WA, where he had the privilege of meeting Dr. George R. Hussey, a beloved local dentist who served the community for nearly five decades. In 2024, Dr. Kim took over his practice—proudly continuing its long-standing tradition of personalized and compassionate care, while introducing modern technologies and techniques to enhance the patient experience. The two doctors have since become close friends and Dr. Hussey remains a welcome visitor to the office, often stopping by to catch up with staff and longtime patients.

Outside the office, Dr. Kim is a proud husband and father to his energetic 2-year-old daughter, Doah. On weekends, you’ll often find them exploring local parks, hiking trails, and everything the Pacific Northwest has to offer. Dr. Kim is also an avid baseball fan, and enjoys biking, skiing, traveling, and playing guitar whenever he gets the chance.
